When is the Route 66 Rendezvous? 

  • Answer: The Route 66 Rendezvous is always held on the third weekend of September, Thursday through Sunday.  The 18th Annual Stater Bros. Route 66 Rendezvous is September 13 - 16, 2007.

What time does it start?

  • Answer: Event times are as follows: 
    Thursday, Sept. 13th:     6 p.m. - 10 p.m.
    Friday, Sept. 14th:         6 p.m. - 10 p.m.
    Saturday, Sept. 15th:     10 a.m. - 10 p.m.
    Sunday, Sept. 16th:       10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

How much does it cost to enter as a spectator?

  • Answer: As a spectator, the event is FREE in the downtown area.  There is a $6.00 fee for the Firestone Burnout contest on Friday, Sept. 14 at the Orange Show Speedway.

As a spectator, where do I park?

  • Answer: The event covers 35 blocks of downtown San Bernardino.  There are several FREE public parking lots that surround the event.  Best advice, come early and bring your comfortable walking shoes.

How do I enter my car?

  • Answer: Pre-Register: Your car must have been made between 1900 through 1973 and be in show quality, meaning no primer spots, dents, rust, etc.  It can be one solid primer color. Any year Corvette, Viper & Prowler is permitted.  Second, fill out an official registration form, attach a copy of the vehicles current DMV registration, a color photo of the vehicle, and enclose a check for the proper amount. Mail your completed registration and required documents to Route 66 Rendezvous, 201 North "E" Street, Suite 103, San Bernardino, CA 92401.

  • Vehicle Registration Forms will be available at vehicle check-in beginning September 14, 2007. Check-in location is located in the Carousel Mall parking lot across from Fairview Ford. Click here for a map.
  • Show vehicle is not required onsite to register.  
  • If you do not bring your show vehicle you must bring a good quality color photo of the vehicle you are registering.   
  • A copy of your current DMV registration.  
  • Appropriate payment of $80.00 for on-site registration.

What are the times for Pre-registration check-in and New On-Site Registration Check-in?

  • Answer: Check-in location is located in the Carousel Mall parking lot across from Fairview Ford. Click here for a map.
    - Pre-Registered can begin check-in on Thursday, Sept. 13, 2007 - 8 a.m. - 8 p.m.
    - New Registration check-in starts Friday, Sept. 14, 2007 - 8 a.m. - 8 p.m.
    *Vehicle Check-in is open on Saturday, Sept. 15, 2007 from 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 16, 2007 from 8 a.m. to 12 noon    *On a space available bases only.

Can I register for only one day?

  • Answer: No - when you register, you are registered for the entire event.  You may attend one or all days.

How much does it cost to enter my vehicle?

  • Answer: Pre-Registration dates are: (Postmarked on or before)
    - June 14, 2007 - $45
    - Aug. 1, 2007 - $65
    After Aug. 1, 2007 you must register your vehicle on-site at the the Vehicle Check-in beginning Sept. 14, 2007 at 8 a.m. The Registration fee is $80 for on-site registration.

     

bullet To qualify as a registered vehicle, vehicle must meet the following standards:
  • Well maintained show quality vehicles. Paint & chrome must be presentable and
    complete.
  • Primered vehicles are acceptable, BUT must be all one color clean primer.
  • Part-Primer, Part-Paint is NOT acceptable, nor are mismatched painted body parts.
  • Body damage, visible rust or broken glass is NOT acceptable.
  • All street legal equipment (lights, etc.) is required on your vehicle.
  • Exceptions for minor items may be made at the discretion of the organizers.
  • Upon inspection of pre-registered vehicle, Organizers reserve the right to revoke Registration. If revoked, fee will be refunded within three weeks after event.
  • Street legal vehicles only, unless waived by Organizers in writing.

What Restrictions are there?

  • Vehicles activating hydraulics and/or air bags; flames from exhaust; obscene or offensive artwork, signs, stickers, etc. are prohibited.
  • Open exhaust system rules are strictly enforced. Open Header Cruisin': 2:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, 2007 only.
  • No "For Sale" signs are allowed. Discreet decal/paint is allowed.
  • No unauthorized bicycles, skate boards, golf carts, and motorized carts allowed within event boundary.
  • No roping off large sections or spaces (first come, first serve).

How many spaces are available?

  • Answer: We limit the number of vehicles to 2,448. This number depicts the number of miles on Route 66 from Chicago to Santa Monica.

I heard there are Reserve Parking Spaces Available for Participants.  How did I get one?

  • Answer: That's correct. Participants can purchase a reserve parking space for the entire event. Go here to read more about reserved parking.

I've registered my vehicle, now where do I park?  Is there assigned parking?

  • Answer: At registration you will receive an event map showing the areas where participants can park.  Parking is on a first come first park basis.  Click here to see the current event map.  If you have paid for a reserved space, you will receive information on your location at registration.

Where are your hotels/motels?  Can I stay in my R.V.?

  • Answer:  San Bernardino has many hotels and motels to meet your accommodation needs.  R.V.ers can park their trailers & motor homes at assigned located in the downtown area.  Click here to view the area accommodations and RV parking instructions.
