Gene Winfield - It has been 60 years since Winfield opened his first automotive custom shop and began what would become a lifelong passion. 

Out of necessity and through trial and error he taught himself the art of customizing, chopping, especially Mercurys, welding, and painting.  Along the way he found time to work on cars for television and the movies.  Some of his more recognized creations include the Jade Idol 1956 Mercury, cars for The Man from UNCLE, Bewitched, and more recently RoboCop and The Last Starfighter.

Winfield’s legendary techniques and innovative designs are much appreciated by today’s new breed of custom car aficionados.  Twice a year he holds a metalworking workshop at his shop in Mojave, CA, where he imparts not only his love of customs and rods but also a hands on work experience with a living legend.
