Kenny Youngblood

Kenny Youngblood – Youngblood was hooked on racing and motor sports at age 12 when he was treated to a day at San Gabriel Drag Strip.  According to Youngblood, he is a racer at heart and has built and driven two “slingshot” fuel dragsters, worked as a crew member and co-owned various types of race vehicles.  But it is his airbrush work that established a new standard after custom painter Dick Olsen hired him to handle all the sign painting for his shop.  Known as “Blood” to his friends, he signed his work “Blood Did It”.

In the early 70s, Youngblood began designing graphics for all kinds of performance vehicles including dragsters.  He was the first artist to specialize in auto racing and would eventually be called “The father of modern day race-car designs”.

Paintings of race cars on canvas soon proved to be popular and buyers for his racing “portraits” were becoming easier to find.  In 1978 he began offering limited edition prints of his originals.  Today, Youngblood is seen frequently on television and at major car show events across the country.  His work has been featured on shows like “Monster Garage”, and can be seen at the Hot Rod Grille in Las Vegas, NV.
