"Big Daddy" Don Garlits

"Big Daddy" Don Garlits has had a long distinguished career in drag racing.  Amongst his many achievements, Garlits has won eight career NHRA U.S. Nationals wins, nine AARWBA All-American Awards, the key to the city of Las Vegas, and was a guest of President Nixon at the White House.  He has also been an important fixture as an innovator of automotive design.

 

 

 

 

Jan & Dean

Jan & Dean invented the Southern California sound during the '60s with such hits as "Surf City," "Dead Man's Curve," and "Little Old Lady from Pasadena."  Celebrating their 40th Anniversary in 1999, Jan & Dean's music defined a place in time and culture.  Their music can still be heard on countless radio stations and during cruise nights all over America.
