When is the Route 66 Rendezvous? 

  • Answer: The Route 66 Rendezvous is always held on the third weekend of September, Thursday through Sunday. The 23rd Annual Stater Bros. Route 66 Rendezvous is September 15 - 18, 2011.

What are the times that Route 66 Rendezvous are open?

  • Answer: Event times are as follows:
    Thursday, Sept. 15th: 6 p.m. - 10 p.m
    Friday, Sept. 16th: 6 p.m. - 10 p.m.
    Saturday, Sept. 17th: 10 a.m. - 9 p.m.
    Sunday, Sept. 18th: 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

How much does it cost for a spectator?

  • Answer: As a spectator, the event is FREE in the downtown area.

How do I get to the Route 66 Rendezvous?

As a spectator, where do I park?

  • Answer: The event covers 35 blocks of downtown San Bernardino.  There are several FREE public parking lots that surround the event.  Best advice, come early and bring your comfortable walking shoes.

How do I enter my car?

  • Answer: Pre-Register: Your car must have been made between 1900 through 1974 and be in show quality, meaning no primer spots, dents, rust, etc. It can be one solid primer color. Any year Corvette, is permitted. Second, fill out an official registration form, attach a copy of the vehicles current DMV registration, a color photo of the vehicle, and enclose a check for the proper amount. Mail your completed registration and required documents to Route 66 Rendezvous, 415 West 2nd Street, San Bernardino, CA 92401. Cut-off date is August 1, 2011

  • Vehicle Registration Forms will be available at vehicle check-in Thursday, Sept. 15th through Sunday, Sept. 18th. Check-in location is located in the Carousel Mall parking lot across from Fairview Ford, Section "M". Click here for a map.
  • Show vehicle is not required onsite to register.  
  • If you do not bring your show vehicle you must bring a good quality color photo of the vehicle you are registering.  
  • A copy of your current DMV registration.  
  • Appropriate payment of $80.00 for on-site registration.

What are the times for registration check-in and New On-Site Registration?

  • Answer: Registration is located at the Carousel Mall parking lot (Section M) on “G” Street, north of 2nd Street - across from Fairview Ford. Click here for a map.
    - Pre-registered Vehicle Check in and New On-Site Registration (based on availability) begins Thursday, Sept. 15, 2011 through Saturday, Sept. 17, 2011 from 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. and on Sunday, Sept. 18, 2011 from 8 a.m. – 11 a.m.

Can I register for only one day?

  • Answer: No - when you register, you are registered for the entire event.  You may attend one or all days.

How much does it cost to enter my vehicle?

  • Answer: Your registration fee includes a reserved parking space and assigned space number for the entire event, credentials and commemorative license plate. Only Pre-registration will include official event T-shirt.
    - On or before August 1, 2011 = $70.00
    - On-Site = $80.00. After August 1, 2011 you must register your vehicle on-site at Vehicle Registration located at the Carousel Mall parking lot (Section M) on “G” Street, north of 2nd Street, across from Fairview Ford.

To qualify as a registered vehicle, your vehicle must meet the standards below.

  • Well-maintained show quality vehicles. Paint & chrome must be presentable and complete.
  • Primered vehicles are acceptable, BUT must be all one color clean primer.
  • Part-Primer, Part-Paint is NOT acceptable, nor are mismatched painted body parts.
  • Body damage, visible rust or broken glass is NOT acceptable.
  • All street legal equipment (lights, etc.) is required on your vehicle.
  • Exceptions for minor items may be made at the discretion of the organizers.
  • Street legal vehicles only, unless waived by Organizers in writing.
  • Upon inspection of pre-registered vehicle, Organizers reserve the right to revoke Registration. If revoked, fee will be refunded within three weeks after event.
  • If your vehicle is under construction but will be completed prior to the event, you may still submit your entry form with a photo of the current vehicle, however, please submit a note with your entry form stating your intent e.g. “My vehicle will be painted prior to the event dates”, “The bumper will be installed prior to the event dates”. Your vehicle will be placed in a hold folder for follow-up. Prior to the event, your vehicle will be re-inspected by a new photo or on-site for approval.

What Restrictions are there?

  • Vehicles activating hydraulics and/or air bags; flames from exhaust; obscene or offensive artwork, signs, stickers, etc. are prohibited.
  • Open exhaust system rules are strictly enforced. Open Header Cruising is from 12 Noon until 6 p.m. on Saturday, September 17, 2011 only.
  • No "For Sale" signs are allowed. Discreet decal/paint is allowed.
  • No unauthorized bicycles, skateboards, golf carts, and motorized carts allowed within event boundary.
  • No roping off large sections or spaces

How many spaces are available?

  • Answer: Space is limited to the first 1,700 vehicles approved. Each participant will receive a reserved parking space and assigned number.

I heard there are Reserve Parking Spaces Available for Participants.  How do I get one?

  • Answer: Your registration fee includes a reserved parking space and assigned space number for the entire event. Reserved Parking Map

I've registered my vehicle, now how do I find my reserved parking space number?

  • Answer: Prior to the event you will receive a confirmation letter indicating your area and space number. At registration you will also receive an event map showing the areas of reserved parking. To see the current reserved parking map go to Reserved Parking Map.

Where are your hotels/motels?  Can I stay in my R.V.?

  • Answer:  : San Bernardino has many hotels and motels to meet your accommodation needs. RV’s and Motor Homes will be assigned a location in the downtown area to park/camp.
