Congratulations to the 2007 Winners of the Lucas Oil Burnout Contest
Presented by The Press Enterprise!

  • The Freestyle Pro contest winner is Steve Herzog with his 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle. 

  • The Freestyle Street contest winner is Paul Williams with his 1966 Jeep CJ5.

What is the Burnout Contest?
It doesn't take a lot of power to start the tires smoking, but the longer they smoke, the hotter they get and the better they "Hook up."

Where is the contest held?
The Burnout Contest is held at the NOS Events Center Orange Show Speedway.  There is a $6.00 admission fee into the Burnout Contest. Kids 10 years old and younger are admitted free.
· Participants enter from "E" Street, south of Mill Street at Gate #11.
· Spectator parking is on Arrowhead Avenue, Gate #8 or across the street in the dirt parking lot.

 


Lucas Oil Burnout Contest (17)

When is the contest held?
NEW NIGHT! Saturday, September 20, 2008 from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.  You must check-in your vehicle beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Does it cost to enter the contest?
The Burnout Contest is open to the general public and limited to the first 50 vehicles. It cost $5.00 per vehicle.

How do you judge a burnout?
The winner of each class is determined by the reaction of the crowd - in the judge’s opinion.

CLASSES:
Freestyle Pro-
Any car or truck considered by tech committee to be a racecar of any kind.  Entrants allowed to burnout in circles or straight. (Time Limit 1-minute)

Freestyle Street-
Any car or truck considered by tech committee to be truly street legal.  Entrants allowed to burnout in circles or straight.  (Time Limit 1-minute)

RULES:

  • Contestants must remain within specified area.

  • Contestants agree to stop immediately when checkered flag waves and air horn is sounded.

  • Any infraction of the rules is subject to disqualification and no refund of entry fee.

The winners are announced immediately after the contest on Saturday, September 20, 2008.  The winners will receive a plaque and prizes.
